In the second round, which concluded in November, seven projects received support with total funding of EUR 273,460, of which KAF co-financing is EUR 40,157.20. In this stage, companies plan to acquire modern production and processing equipment, including automatic cable processing machines, forced convection drying cabinets, concrete mixing equipment, as well as computer hardware for mobile application development and laboratory data processing. Sewing processes will also be modernized, and training courses on the transportation of dangerous goods will be implemented. These projects will continue until November 30, 2026.
The Rēzekne SEZ Business Support Fund was established based on the Rezekne SEZ Law, with the aim of promoting business activity and infrastructure development within the SEZ territory. Each year, the SEZ administration organizes project competitions, providing additional support to entrepreneurs.
SEZ CEO M. Meirāne emphasizes: “Although the funding available through these projects is not large, it can become a significant step in a company’s development. The additional support provided by Rēzekne SEZ helps businesses not only modernize and automate production processes but also invest in employee training, which is a crucial prerequisite for sustainable growth and strengthening competitiveness both locally and internationally.”
