RSEZ

October 31, 2025

From October 27 to 29, 2025, representatives and entrepreneurs from the Rezekne Special Economic Zone (SEZ) visited Stockholm, Örebro, and Norrköping, Sweden, to learn about business culture and explore cooperation opportunities.

The visit began with an inspiring meeting at the Latvian Embassy in Sweden with LIAA representatives Valters Jēkabsons and Toms Sudrabs. They discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and promote Latvian companies in the Swedish market.

The discussions also included Austra Kresliņa (Baltic Reach) and Andreas Pitlik, Honorary Consul of Latvia in Sweden and representative of South Communication. They shared valuable advice on communication, market entry, and networking strategies that significantly impact business development.

During the visit, participants visited Actemium Industry Norrköping in Sweden, where they explored examples of industrial automation and electrotechnical solutions, gaining practical insight into Swedish production processes and innovations.

In Örebro, the delegation visited the Business Corner and met with Startcentrum representatives. They learned about mechanisms that support entrepreneurship in Sweden, from school-level initiatives to programs for new businesses, as well as other organizations promoting entrepreneurship.

The delegation also visited Örebro Brygghus, a local brewery. The owner shared experiences on starting a business, challenges faced, and introduced the production processes for beer and non-alcoholic beverages.

The trip concluded with a visit to Linde Material Handling, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of warehouse equipment and logistics solutions. The delegation gained valuable insights into production processes and company operations.

Throughout the visit, participants established contacts and deepened their understanding of Swedish business processes, especially in production, marketing, and product distribution. The Latvian delegation included representatives from six Rezekne SEZ companies. Several companies expressed interest in continuing discussions and developing joint projects with Swedish partners.

The project was implemented in cooperation with Lienes Consulting AB and with financial support from the Sweden – Latvia Cooperation Fund. Established in 2019, the Fund promotes bilateral cooperation, knowledge exchange, and networking between Sweden and Latvia. It also supports collaboration among young people, entrepreneurs, and organizations, as well as the development of Swedish and Latvian language and culture.
