In 2015 RSEZ enterprises had invested 17.3 million euros in development

Economic indicators of RSEZ for several years are better than in the previous year and in separate positions have reached the highest indicators since the establishment of RSEZ. In the previous year turnover of RSEZ enterprises had reached 70.5 million euros, while 17.3 million euros had been invested in infrastructure and introduction of modern technologies.

Turnover of RSEZ enterprises in the previous year had reached 70.5 million euros and it is the highest indicator since the establishment of RSEZ. The highest turnover had been in enterprises “VEREMS” RSEZ SIA – 29.9 million euros, “NewFuels” RSEZ SIA – 15.4 million euros and SIA “LEAX Rēzekne” RSEZ – 12.2 million euros.

Altogether RSEZ enterprises had invested more than 130 million euros in their development, including 17.5 million euros, which in 2015 had been invested in development of infrastructure and introduction of modern technologies. In 2015 the largest investments had been made in enterprises “NewFuels” RSEZ SIA (7.6 million euros), SIA “LEAX Rēzekne” RSEZ (3.3 million euros) and “Atmosclear CHP” RSEZ SIA (2.7 million euros).

As outlined by Chief Executive Officer of RSEZ Authority Sandra Ežmale “We are very glad that not only the new enterprises that have received the status of RSEZ in 2014 -2015 but also long standing RSEZ enterprises, are investing in development of modern technologies and infrastructure. It is a sign that enterprises are expanding their production and developing themselves.”

In 2015 RSEZ enterprises together had employed 811 employees or for 39 employees more than in 2014. The largest employers were “VEREMS” RSEZ SIA (339 employees), SIA “LEAX Rēzekne” RSEZ (139 employees) and RSEZ “Magistr Fiskevegn Group.MFG” SIA (87 employees).

“Rēzekne is a favourable city for business, Authority of special economic zone ensures the necessary support for investors, in order to ensure environment where it is easy and pleasant to work,” emphasizes the Chairman of the Board of enterprise “NewFuels” RSEZ SIA Matīss Paegle. Producer of wooden pellets, which in the last year had invested 7.6 million euros in production, according to its production capacity in one single factory is the largest factory in Latvia and the fourth largest in Europe.

In the beginning of 2016, 18 enterprises were working with the status of RSEZ and in comparison with 2009 the number of RSEZ enterprises has doubled.
