Rēzekne SEZ commercial companies made 19.2 million euros long-term investments in 2019
Rēzekne SEZ commercial companies have made long-term investments in the amount of 19.2 million euros in 2019. The total amount of long-term investments accumulated by commercial companies of Rezekne SEZ has reached 171.1 million euros. Moreover, the total turnover has increased by 4.1 million euros and 43 new work places have been created, according to the summary of Rezekne SEZ commercial companies performance indicators.

Rezekne SEZ commercial companies are making significant investments, creating new work places and thanks to our commercial companies, the average income of the inhabitants is becoming higher. This is confirmed both by the assessment of the development potential of Latgale region prepared by experts and the performance indicators of Rezekne SEZ commercial companies in 2019”.
The turnover of Rezekne SEZ commercial companies reached 109.5 million euros in 2019. Rēzekne SEZ companies with the largest turnover were- pellet producer “NewFuels” RSEZ SIA - 35.2 million euros, for the plywood producer “VEREMS” RSEZ SIA - 32.8 million euros and for the metal processing company SIA “LEAX Rēzekne” RSEZ - 18.9 million euros. “Rēzeknes Dzirnavnieks” RSEZ AS had the fastest growth in turnover in 2019, which has increased its turnover by 55%, reaching 4.1 million euros.
The commercial companies of Rēzekne SEZ employed 990 employees in 2019, which is by 43 employees more than in 2018. In the last five years, the number of employees in Rēzekne SEZ has increased by 22% or by 179 employees. The company "VEREMS" RSEZ SIA still retains the status of the largest employer with 343 employees.
The total amount of long-term investments accumulated by Rezekne SEZ commercial companies reached 171.1 million euros last year. The companies invested 19.2 million euros in infrastructure and modern technologies, 6.4 million euros of the investments were invested within the framework of the Rezekne SEZ investment projects. The largest long-term investments have been made in companies - SIA “LEAX Rēzekne” RSEZ (12.2 million euros) and “VEREMS” RSEZ SIA (5.9 million euros).
In addition, Rezekne SEZ Authority concluded 3 agreements last year on the implementation of new investment projects, within which it is planned to make investments in the amount of 1.5 million euros. Among the project applicants is the metal surface processing and coating company “MEGASTEEL” SIA RSEZ, which granted the status of Rēzekne SEZ commercial company in 2019. As part of the project, the company plans to employ at least 20 employees and make long-term investments in the amount of 713,000 euros.
