Rēzekne SEZ enterprise have increased their turnover by 18% and created 47 new workplaces in 2017

In the previous year turnover of Rēzekne SEZ enterprises has reached 99.4 million euros and 899 employees were employed in zone enterprises. 2017 has been successful year for Rēzekne SEZ enterprises, in the largest part of enterprises turnover, employment, export and profit indicators were increased.

In comparison with 2016 the turnover of Rēzekne SEZ enterprises last year increased by 18%, reaching 99.4 million euros. Rēzekne SEZ enterprises with the largest turnover were birch plywood mill “VEREMS” RSEZ SIA, wood pellets producer “NewFuels” RSEZ SIA and metal processing enterprise SIA “LEAX Rēzekne” RSEZ. Meanwhile, enterprises with the largest increase of the turnover in 2017 were: SIA RSEZ SIA “LATSTAB”, which doubled its turnover reaching 1.6 million euros, RSEZ “REDIUS” SIA, which increased turnover by 44% and SIA “LEAX Rēzekne”, turnover of which in 2017 reached 18.9 million euros.

Also the number of workplaces in Rēzekne SEZ has increased last year – in 2017 it reached 899 working places or 47 workplaces more than in 2016. In the previous five years the number of employees in Rēzekne SEZ enterprises has increased by 26%. The largest increase of the number of workplaces was in enterprise SIA “LEAX Rēzekne” RSEZ, which with the expansion of presence in Rēzekne SEZ has also created 36 new workplaces.

The amount of total accumulated sum of long-term investments in Rēzekne SEZ in 2017 reached 142 million euros. Meanwhile in the previous four years Rēzekne SEZ enterprises have invested more than 41 million euros into introduction of modern technologies and development of infrastructure. Both local and foreign capital has been invested In Rēzekne SEZ. Enterprises “VEREMS” RSEZ SIA, “NewFuels” RSEZ SIA, “Energy Resources CHP” RSEZ SIA and SIA “LEAX Rēzekne” RSEZ could be mentioned as the largest investors of Rēzekne SEZ.

Information about the performance indicators of Rēzekne SEZ enterprises of 2017 has been developed on the basis of annual reports submitted by 19 Rēzekne SEZ enterprises. Altogether the status of Rēzekne SEZ enterprise has been currently granted to 18 enterprises, including RSEZ SIA “Alfa Lithium”, which has received the status of Rēzekne SEZ enterprise in 2017 and is working in the area of wholesale of metals and metal ores.
