Rēzekne Special Economic Zone (SEZ) has become the member of World Free Zones Organization, joining free and special economic zones, industrial parks and free ports from 75 countries.
As the member of World Free Zones Organization Rēzekne SEZ and its enterprises from now on will be able to support programs for the development of free zones, platforms for establishment of cooperation between zones and their enterprises, practically use the research basis of the organization.
World free zones organization was established in 2014 and is registered in Geneva (Switzerland), while the main office of the organization is located in Dubai Airport Free Zone, United Arab Emirates. Currently there are approximately 3500 free zones i.e. industrial parks, special economic zones, free zones, free ports etc. in the world. The organization unites more than 330 free zones.
Cooperation with world free zones organization and Rēzekne SEZ started in 2015, during forum for special economic zones in Lithuania that was followed by joint participation in other events organized with support of World Free Zones Organization. The Baltic States are already represented in the organization by Freeport of Riga and Klaipeda Free economic zone.
